And the people who pay for Twitter too(maybe) In a Social Media app the product is you and you are being sold to it's advertisers. In creating a Product the most important thing is it's sense of purpose. It's important to note that both of those check marks were ticked by Twitter previously. It was a social media app. and it was a professional networking app. Ever since elon took over, he's destroying both. He's asking you(the product) to pay. and he's disregarding his customers(the advertisers). and he's promoting paying users as users and the rest are bots. I believe Twitter lost it's sense of purpose both as a social media and as a professional networking platform. Do you agree? All this while ignoring his crazy pricing to pay his loans. If you add the prices to this list, it makes 0 sense as a product.

I think in general the novelty of social networks has declined in favor of new things like AI

@golfo_vasiliou1 I don't think so. No matter how well trained an AI is it can't change the relevance of social media. Social Media is about people and community and AI is about finding answers or assisting in something, 2 vastly different aspects. Besides IMHO AI is too over hyped. literally everyone is trying to use AI without thinking if it's relevant or adds enough value. I agree it makes sense in certain cases, like Rex by Hashnode but people are literally trying to add AI in whatever they're making. and adding GPT in the end of their product is supposed to validate their PMF. I mean does it even make sense?

Twitter never was and never will be a professional networking platform. It was always politically driven and honestly, just a place to post short rants about whatever happened in your daily life or around or be offended on someone else's behalf who doesn't even care and shouldn't care about petty stuff. As for Elon, he can do whatever he wants with what he owns, no need to care too much about platforms, as they come and go, and neither of them is perfect.

I feel like its too early to call this. There’s still no alternative digital town square.

@anurag_baddam1 true that there's no clear alternative but it doesn't change the fact that Twitter has gone astray.
Seems like Twitter needs a little birdie to guide them back to their sense of purpose. Maybe Elon can use some of his SpaceX rockets to find it? 😂

It's less all the paid stuff that's annoying Twitter just refuses to work properly in terms of the mobile app half the time

Twitter seems to have lost its sense of purpose as both a social media and professional networking platform. It's important for social media apps to have a clear sense of purpose, and it seems like Twitter is struggling with that under its current leadership. The recent changes, such as asking users to pay and disregarding advertisers, seem to be causing confusion and frustration among users. Additionally, the high pricing is not helping the situation.
