Yes, Chinese would be great! Or maybe Japanese.
Spanish is the world's second largest language in terms of native speakers. Not a bad candidate either.

Spanish because there a lot of nice opportunities to live abroad!
Either German, Chinese or Japanese. but considering the magic power I would choose whichever is the hardest to learn. :)
