Mine was not getting my birth country documents apostilled - such a basic thing that caused so much trouble later. What's yours?

My biggest mistake was taking too much stuff. I'd better buy something needed here than move it. At least, I chose a good moving company https://paradisemove.com/ I don't know how much time it would take if I packed everything by myself. These guys helped me a lot and safely moved all my stuff.

My biggest moving abroad fail was definitely underestimating the language barrier. I thought I could get by with basic phrases, but I quickly realized that navigating daily life was much harder than I expected. I ended up making some awkward mistakes, like ordering the wrong food multiple times! Lesson learned: always take the time to learn the local language!

I can relate to getting documents apostilled. I suddenly needed a few last year while already living abroad for a while. Had to get it all sorted back in my home country because the embassy didn't provide that service. Such a hassle.

@denise04 Yes, it's really a problem. In which country did you need to apostille?

Oof relatable! My biggest fail was forgetting to get my work visa changed when switching jobs in Germany - almost ended up having to leave the country in a hurry πŸ˜… Always triple check those docs!
