Do you prefer automated tools, manual research, or a mix? How do you ensure you’re getting a full view of the competitive landscape?

I'm curious what people are doing with the data that comes out of competitive analysis. Is it used to contextualize your own performance, or something else? How specifically is it changing your decision-making or behavior? Genuinely curious!

@bensyverson Good question! I’ve used competitive analysis data personally and helped multiple companies make it actionable — especially compared to what big consultancies provide. The key for me is to dig into how competitors position their branding, what their customers like (or don’t), and more. Then, I use those insights to shape our own positioning, highlight where we stand out, and prioritize features their customers are asking for. It’s less about tracking every move and more about understanding where we can stand apart.

I love mixing it up! Automated tools are like my personal spies, but nothing beats good old manual snooping for those details they miss. For a full view, it’s best to combine both—kind of like how "Her Ideal Match" blends science and sentiment to crack the code on dating profiles.

I have an iOS app - We use AppTweak for that. I also use LinkedIn a lot. You'd be surprised how much you can decipher from company and employee profiles posting and bragging there. Has anyone else tried that before?

@maru_rivera1 😂 love it!! Yes I did actually use Linkedin and posts before, even talking to ex employees. You prefer AppTweak over Sensortower? How do you make those insights actionable?
