The creator economy is booming. Now, I think it's essential to be in front of your target audience; you should be active on social media and openly discuss your product journey to build credibility with potential users. Do you actively post about your product on social media channels? If so, which platforms have you found to be the most effective?

Depends on what industry or what service a product provides. TikTok/Twitter/ Reddit all works.

@zoe_chau what channel working well for you? And your industry?

I actively post about my product on LinkedIn and Twitter. LinkedIn helps me connect with potential customers and partners, while Twitter is great for engaging with the community and sharing updates. Exciting times at BeforeSunset AI! Our AI ambience generator is now live, perfect for anyone looking to enhance their workspace for deep focus. https://www.beforesunset.ai/

@konrad_sx I like that you have a Reddit community! Do you have any tips for someone starting to share their product journey on this platform? What works well and what doesn't?

@rupal_saini What I had some success with: * posting about your product in other suitable Subreddits (vrey carefully!) * some giveaways

Very good question! Our CEO posts on LinkedIn about his learnings from launching his four products, including the latest one. His posts get some engagement but I'm not sure it's always from potential customers. Curious to hear if posting on other platforms brings more value!

@natalia_toth It depends on your product's business model. If it's B2B, then LinkedIn and Twitter are best for building thought leadership in the specific niche your product belongs to. You can also occasionally share about your product in your niche-related subreddits. I like that your company follows founder-led growth. I've seen many companies succeed with this approach.

Shall I consider PH a social media? 'Cause this is here where I'm focusing mostly)) It's nice to see how people from PH write me in LinkedIn, we'll also launch there. But Twitter... I suppose I'll have to drown there completely before I can see ROI of any kind. Reddit... maybe, maybe.

@klauss_zee I think we can :) I also use PH daily and repeatedly, just like any other social media. As for Twitter, it can be challenging at first, but building a following there could pay off in the long run. Reddit is a bit of a wild card, but it can also be a valuable platform if you find the right communities.

@andreas_sohns I found that Twitter is not easy for getting engagement on posts and building an audience. It takes a lot of time and effort. Do you have any tips or advice for growing quickly on that platform?
Andreas Sohns
@rupal_saini I get it, Twitter can be tough for building engagement and audience. My advice is to be consistent with your posting, engage with others by commenting and retweeting and also use relevant hashtags to increase visibility. Hope this helps!

@andreas_sohns Engaging with other people's tweets will help. I need to start posting on X now :) Thanks for sharing!

I am delighted to share my experience of working with Binance (https://www.binance.com/) on social media. It's not just a way to showcase my successes, but also an opportunity to find like-minded people, exchange valuable tips, and learn new things. My personal story can inspire others to start their journey to financial independence

I think it goes by without any say. Everyone posts on social media channels about their products. Its just that, what all channels one posts on, cause not all social media channels will have your user base or target customers. For example, We at PyjamaHR, are regularly active on LinkedIn. Being a HR tech software, LinkedIn serves as the best platform to interact with recruiters, understand their pain points and give them solutions.

@vinodkatam94 Yes, many are posting on their company social channels, but key individuals (like founders or marketers even sales team members) must become the face of the product and share its journey. Building in public is increasingly popular and essential now. By the way, I just visited PyjamaHR's LinkedIn page; you guys are posting good stuff there! :)

I'm recently created an X profile with the hopes of building a network of followers. Unfortunately, X has decided to suspend my account for no reason... So I'm thinking of prioritizing LinkedIn as the main platform for connecting with potential customers. And of course, using Product Hunt, Indie Hackers, and similar platform just to share news about deepengine.io before it goes live

@mordehaus This is strange, have you reached out to their support? I see your product is B2B. LinkedIn is a great platform to target; all you need to do is make sure your content provides unique value to your potential customers.

I strongly agree with the "Build in public" philosophy, so yes, you should definitely do this. Additionally, if your product is B2B, LinkedIn works well, whereas for B2C, Twitter is more effective.

@my3_murthy Yeah, building in public is a great way to build a genuine audience on LinkedIn as well as Twitter. From what I've seen, Twitter actually supports the 'build in public' approach more effectively.

I personally feel that each social media platform serves a different purpose with a different audience. I do actively post about my product on social media channels, but the intent on each channel is different. Instagram has the shortest attention span today and has a younger audience base, so to stand out and build awareness, you need to talk less and show more. LinkedIn and Twitter are platforms where you can explain your product in depth over the long run. Here, you can connect with multiple founders and senior folks to understand the different product journeys each of us has been through, learn from everyone's failures and successes, and eventually scale 10x in the longer run. Reddit is a platform I haven't used a lot, but I feel that it's in the middle of both.

@muzammil_22 I do agree with you that different formats work well on different platforms. On Instagram, short videos perform well, but text with images may not have as much potential. They tend to work better on LinkedIn and Twitter due to the different audience preferences for content. I'm curious, how do you handle preparing different content for each platform? Do you avoid repurposing the same content across different platforms?
Share
Muzammil Merchant
@rupal_saini I feel like the algorithms boosted profiles that posted consistently earlier, so repurposing content across platforms worked pretty well. Recently, the audience on each platform has been more defined; you will find a specific audience on Instagram and a specific type of audience on LinkedIn and Twitter. So, focusing on quality rather than the number of posts seems to work better. It also ensures consistent engagement across the platforms

I do, quite often actually via LinkedIn. But, honestly, it's more about life as a founder with a sprinkle of Ariglad. Not pushing our product so much.

It all depends on your target market. I prefer to go with Linkedin/Twitter/Reddit and sometimes Quora

Post every day on Instagram, X, Thread, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. We were testing where our client base hangs out and which social platforms grab their interest. It turns out LinkedIn is the top for us. We plan to experiment with different platforms and then pinpoint the best 2-3 to focus on. I'm also learning how to market on social media, if you have better ideas, let me know! :D https://www.linkedin.com/company...
