Chances are nobody will care at first.
So you need enough time and money to keep experimenting.

Is WordPress still a good choice?
I’ve build many many websites for clients over the last 10 years.
Over the last 18 months, it seems like people have stopped wanting WordPress.
Web gone from a few projects a year down to zero.
Alternatives have matured (Webflow, React + Headless CMS, TypeDream…) and developers want to work less and less with PHP and/or the WordPress framework.
I’m curious if anyone else is seeing or...

I'm an Owl.
My energy always runs into the night.
I can never motivate myself to go to bed early.
I'd choose being a morning person if I could. But can't seem to make it work.
Do you consider yourself more of a morning person or a night owl?

Somewhere in the middle for me.
I don’t want investment if it means having an undesirable stakeholder having influence over my work/life.
Going for growth over profit means having enough financial runway to last.
My current strategy is to run a profitable agency that funds development of our own products.
So far so good, but it’s not easy.

4 things I'm doing to validate my idea faster
Most of my tech experience is B2B high-ticket tech and/or services ($20k+ offers).
I’m currently working on a low-ticket product.
More like $50 p/mo.
It’s a plug-in for web builder platforms like WordPress, Webflow, Shopify…
4 things I’m doing on to validate the idea:
1. I’ve focussed on 1 feature.
It’s tempting to add more because I think it would make the product more desirable.
But I...

Great if you’re spending maybe $200k+ per month on engineers for a project.
Much less and it’s counterproductive.
That’s just my experience.
I’m sure it’s nuanced.

If they are selling to the same audience you can cross sell to get more out of your marketing efforts.

I find outreach works for medium of high ticket products I’ve worked on.
For low ticket I’m experimenting with landing page building and organic + paid social.
Direct sales is expensive so you need a higher value offer to justify the effort.

How did you come up with the initial idea for your product?
Did you identify a need from research?
Was it a lightning bolt moment?
A combination of the two?
Something else?
Would love to know.

This is a great perspective.
My take:
1. free is good if you have a powerful upsell. I do like to “try before I buy” sometimes. Free trial is good for me tbf.
2. free is also good if you want to own mass attention, or a massive slice of the market and crush competition. I think people sometimes give away value for free, without being 100% about what they’re getting in return, and that’s...

I really want someone to invent an AR app on the new Apple headset so that I can run against “ghost” versions of myself from previous days where I ran the same route.
A bit like Mario Kart on the N64.
