Why is it so hard for founders to balance building a product and marketing at the same time? šŸ¤”

As a founder, we all wear many hats likeā€”product development, team management, customer support, designer and, of course, marketing. While building demands deep focus and creativity, marketing requires a completely different mindset: outreach, storytelling, and constant engagement. (believe me Iā€™m telling with my experience) Itā€™s not just about time; itā€™s about context switching ( and mind switching) which can drain your energy and dilute your efforts. How do you manage this balance? Or is it even possible to do both well at the same time? Letā€™s discuss! šŸ¤šŸ¼

Mornings for making, afternoons for marketing is a solid approach! šŸ’Ŗ Another option is to dedicate certain days to each - like product Mon/Wed/Fri and marketing Tue/Thu. Batching similar tasks helps me get in the right headspace. And agreed, the simultaneous juggling act is a recipe for burnout. šŸ„µ Gotta protect that founder energy! āš”

I feel this in my bones! My brain does product stuff way better before 2pm, so that's my build time. Marketing gets the afternoon when I'm naturally more chatty anyway. The whole "doing both at once" thing is a myth that nearly burned me out.

I find it tough to switch between the intense focus required for developing the product and the outward-facing tasks of marketing. It feels like two completely different mindsets, and I end up getting stretched too thin trying to balance both.
