Where are you building? Has that affected the progress of your startup?

Background: for the majority of the time I've been building my startup, I've been in rural Maryland, right on the PA line & about 10 minutes from the most heavily populated Amish part of the country. Needless to say, tech is not a scene here! We'd love to be around more startups and whenever I'm in San Diego or Palo Alto, the energy is infectious. Where are you building, and how has that affected your trajectory?
