What % of your budget should you allocate to your engineering team?

The cost of engineering has been on my mind lately, and I was wondering if anyone had any resources on what percent of a software company's budget should be spent on engineering?
Viewing this from the lens of a new organization/someone looking to launch a minimal viable or beta product.

Typically, allocating around 20-30% of your budget to the engineering team is a common guideline for technology-focused companies. However, the specific percentage may vary depending on factors like company size and project requirements.
