Today social media platforms are wrecking the mentall health of its users. Ideally social media platforms must improve the mental health of their users, or can it go beyond just better mental health - what do you think?

It is definitely possible that social media platforms are wrecking the mental health of users. There have been numerous studies that suggest Jaw-Jaw (peer pressure) plays an important role in our psychological well-being and can be damaging when we feel obligated to conform to group opinions. Additionally, online bullying has also been linked with negative psychological outcomes such as anxiety and depression. Therefore, it would not be surprising if social media platforms were harming the mental health of users by inducing feelings of peer pressure and/or bullying Negative effects on the psyche can linger for long periods of time depending on how frequently users engage with these platforms.

@binay_singh2 Totally agree. The problem with the business model is what it maximises for, time spent scrolling - that is THE crux of the issue.

multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Whether you want to learn about personal finance or trade Stocks, Currencies, Commodities and Indices Investor Money will help you.

@donna_sandra Yup! this has 2 reasons, 1) Constant comparison with the looks and lives of peers. My friend's picture got X number of likes but not me 2) Constant comparison with your past self. Last week's picture got X number of likes but not today's. This is not necessarily all bad- If you are a content creator putting out business content for example, then this is pressure you must be able to face to some extent. That is what will drive people to look to you for quality content. But if you are regular user of social media , this constant comparison is just insane. Thank you for letting me know about investor money, will definitely check it out!
