I think it's a good way to enhance the user experience! It definitely works here on Product Hunt, with people celebrating streak and kitty points milestones and becoming more invested in the community because they have to visit the website every day.
The most important thing to consider with gamification is having a clear path to the goal you want to achieve with it. For example, Product Hunt aims for more engagement and they achieve it with gamification elements. But in other cases, gamification can potentially irritate people and distract them from getting to the goal or conversion you are aiming for.

@michaelshver Thank you, Michael, I completely agree with you. Gamification does have the potential to enhance our motivation to stay active on a platform, making it more engaging and interesting. However, the challenge arises when there are too many gamification elements introduced, which can lead to a complex user experience.
In my opinion, another excellent example of striking the right balance is Duolingo.
