Especially the most recent Google’s Helpful Content update it’s really focusing on quality over quantity when it comes to blogs and content on landing pages. Google is rewarding content written for consumption rather than for the purpose of SEO. Also being careful who you do backlink exchanges and accept guest posts from. Make sure their site has good DR and they don’t have spammy links on their site or the content they write for you! This is a different view than what was asked in the question. I think once all the generative AI websites, specially the ones which are hooked to real-time internet data, starts becoming generally used, SEO will become harder. Imagine your websites content being shown to the user without any hyperlinks or references to your website? No clicks per month, no traffic inbound, all information scraped , indexed and shown directly to user without the user actually ever reaching to your site. This will make people try to embed information directly into their blog posts, generate even more non textual marketing content, etc. in a few years the SEO game is going to change drastically.
