Greetings I'm a developer myself but recently it's occurred to me the parenting in the East is totally different to parenting in West (north america/ canada etc) with the CPS and Safe Haven law . I'd like to you how do you also communicate and manage your child effectively without any abuse and maintain a certain discipline with mutual respect for each other? thanks karanveer

Ignore all the modern soft parenting that you hear today. Be firm and strict. You don't have to be abusive but you're the boss, not them. Don't cater to their every wish, don't spoil them, teach them the difference between right and wrong, tell them they won't always get their way, teach them that the world is a tough place and how to deal with it, spend quality time with them when you can.

@rmarlow Hi Roland, thanks for this comment. I'll always prefer a more understanding route because later down the road we are also going to grow old and lord knows whats gonna happen to us yet then we would need someone just as understanding and caring as we are to them I believe.

Just like startups: keep doing more - you'll get better overtime.

Due to the fact that I work remotely, I will have time to talk to my son at lunch and just spend time.

@karanveer Yes, it happens that your ordinary room becomes a place where emotions accumulate and it seems like a workplace, although for us as parents this should not be so. I would recommend breaking up your work time and adding 15-20 minutes of rest. Then you can slow down your work with family or personal matters.

@ixord hey Igor, okay but any tips for remote working parents because one of the drawbacks that I found of remote work is home stops feeling like home and always an office.. I could be wrong but just my pov.

Hello Karanveer, Parenting approaches can indeed vary across cultures. Personally, I prioritize open communication, active listening, and setting clear expectations. It's crucial to foster a supportive environment where my child feels heard and valued. Discipline is approached with a focus on teaching rather than punishment, emphasizing understanding consequences and mutual respect. Every child is unique, so it's essential to adapt parenting strategies to their individual needs.
