it depends on individuals. But overall, i believe it is negative. people are getting spammed and few of them can resist or know how to deal with it.

I think social media can have both positive and negative influence in society
Launching soon!
Social media can be like a high-speed rollercoaster - thrilling and fun, but sometimes you just want to get off and have a quiet moment in the park.
Of course it depends on how is used. I t can be positive or negative depending on each person. The part I can say is true, is that is an influence. On social media you will see the latests trends and thats a thing that influences society.
I've been producing content for social media for years, having worked in broadcast on shows like The Voice and X Factor, etc, so I understand how social media revolutionized fan engagement with new ways to connect with audiences. However, the landscape (& the power of the algorithms) has changed significantly since then.
My perspective on this question very much comes from that of a parent & also from someone with ADHD. For me personally, I find it a real-time-suck - the algorithms are so good these days that I pick up my iPhone to do "one task" & end up getting sucked into time-wasting social media before I know it. I don't see much of a positive benefit from social media anymore.
As a parent, holding my kids back from social media is a daily battle.
All I see are young kids walking down the street, staring at their phones. They don't see the world anymore. They don't connect with others they walk past. I see the skyrocketing rates of mental health issues in Gen Z.
The best news I've heard recently is New York banning social media algorithms from targeting young children. I wish there was a "neurodiverse" setting so we could turn off the algorithms as adults!
Is anyone else seeing or experiencing this same social impact?
