How to reduce the product's unsubscribe rate?

I know that the value the product brings to the user determines whether they are willing to pay for it. What other good ideas are there to reduce subscription cancellation rates?

So important to test. Some variables for Apps specifically that can help: 1. Pro screen copy and details: - Sometimes stating things like "No commitments, cancel any-time." can make users feel in control as well as a detailed over-view of how a free trial works and when they'll be notified to cancel. Sounds counter productive but can work. Remember you're testing this. 2. Clear Limited Free Trial periods - "50% off today!" May have more weight as they the offer is limited so they won't be able to cancel and get the same again. 3. Build long-term engagement features - Where users are more invested the more they use it. Like Spotify playlists. 4. Integrate positive reviews / social proof long term users into Appstore screenshots, On-boarding or Pro screens.

It's going to depend product to product. What I would do is have a survey sent to all customers who leave and let them choose a few options for why you think they've unsubbed but also let them fill in a box. If you're not getting any responses, or want more in-depth responses, you can always pay previous customers for an interview and ask more things in detail.

GMT from the user's perspective. Usually the maker knows the product too well to understand how important a no-brainer is

Offer a free trial is a good idea.
