Interesting take, here's an addition that might help some people out: -> Identify if there's any variation of your MVP that only requires time. (Fake the tech) It's a good way to see if people can pay for that pain-point resolution and how much can they afford. Doing just a market study I believe is not enough to jump on an MVP development as there's a lot of noise and false assumptions.
