How do you pronounce niche - "neesh" or "nitch"?

Our office just had a heated debate about pronouncing niche, so I have come to see if the PH community can give us the final verdict. πŸ˜‚

Only Niche (neesh)! I do hear a lot of Americans say nitch though which is very funny. There is no T in the word so not sure how they think that it should be pronounced like that 😊
