Things don't always go according to plan. Be prepared to adjust your goals and plans as needed.

Validate each step of your process with your end-users. I know it might be time-consuming, but it pays off. This is how you can determine whether you're on the right path, especially in development.
I find it very helpful to start strong and be regular.
