How do you get the most out of your meetings?

I do online meetings with customers and team in my current company. The discussions are lost as soon as the meetings have finished so we need to take notes down and again read those to extract customer feedbacks or actionable tasks. Do you have those kind of problems with your current meeting workflows? If you do sales meetings for e.g. what are the most painful points during or after the meetings?

Keeping it short, sweet, and focused. Prepping an agenda beforehand is a lifesaver. Clear goals, right people, and no room for fluff - that's the ticket.

@yasmininson Thanks for your reply! Does your meetings involve a lot of agenda items to discuss? Can you explain more about "no room for fluff" meaning?

Setting a clear agenda and following it strictly are essential. gives the 'talkers' something to talk about. Quick follow-ups on a shared document, ideally with clear action items for everyone engaged.

@norma_l33 Thanks for your input! What app do you use for a shared document for follow-ups?

Like everyone has said one key is to have an agenda. That'll help keep you focused. The other thing is to hace action items at the end of the meeting. What's going to happen now? Assign tasks, quickly cover what everyone will do. That way ppl will pay attention and they'll come out of the meeting feeling like progress was made. Following up with an email reiterating the action items also helps keep yhe momentum going.

@kernelsoe a simple email is more than enough for all of that. No need for specialized software IMHO

@fernando_doglio Thanks for your adivce! Where do you prepare those agenda and share during the meeting? (via screenshare or something?) After the meeting, how do you share all the outcomes (tasks, actions items ...) with participants?
