How do you get people to leave reviews for your business?

Hey PH community! I'm curious to know how you all encourage your customers to leave reviews. Personally, I’ve found it challenging to get customers to take the time to write detailed feedback. Do you offer incentives, make the process super simple, or maybe something else? What strategies have worked best for you in getting those valuable reviews? Looking forward to hearing your tips and experiences!

First, build a good product - then identify the best moment to collect feedback from specific customers. For example, after they already experienced aha moment, got the value and upgraded from free to paid. Milestone https://www.milestoneflow.io/ actually can be a good source of insights here. Incentivizing work well too: better focus on personal rewards, like Amazon gift card or some bonuses, rather than company-related. Noticed people are more motivated to get something for themselves.

I think incentives are a great motivator. I left a few reviews on G2 for products I really liked, and getting incentives like Amazon vouchers and goodies worked as a motivating factor for me, making me leave reviews for other products (even though all of them didn't offer incentives).

You can ask them over email or add a review button to your website. We don't offer incentives. Additionally, we imported our Product Hunt reviews. Check out our Wall of Love: https://www.feedspace.io/w/tTK2s....

Getting customers to leave reviews is like coaxing a cat into a bath - tricky but doable! I've had luck by personalizing requests, showcasing the impact reviews have on businesses, and sometimes, a subtle sprinkle of humor works like catnip. How do you tackle this challenge?

@thestarkster Haha love the analogy of getting reviews. Personalizing requests instead of generic blasts is a really smart tactic

I'm assuming you're referring to product reviews. Build a product that leaves them impressed from first sight.

@millisen So right! If the product wows customers right out of the gate, they'll be way more inclined to leave great reviews. Appreciate you highlighting that crucial point!
