  • How did you get your critical mass?

We're building a community for families and we're struggling to find the critical mass that allows us to "sell" the product to new users. We have a bunch of registrations daily but not many subscribers. We're pretty sure that's because of how little users we have: people don't see the value in subscribing if there aren't enough families. They register, see there's only ~40 pins on the map and they leave. Our value is the families visible on the map. We had a waiting list of around 500 emails and we offered 1 free year to everyone on that list. We're now offering a 1-month trial but still not many are signing up. How did you get your initial users?

Ah, the elusive quest for critical mass! Getting those initial users is like trying to herd cats - tricky but not impossible. Have you considered hosting virtual family game nights to attract more like-minded users? It's a fun way to grow your community while bonding over shared experiences!

Till the community is truly built and ready as its intended, you would have to provide some other incentives and value which would make them stick around. You also have to explore what exact value will push the users to buy your paid plan.

@swayam_siddha Just yesterday we talked about getting other incentives to get users to stick around :) Thanks for your answer!

@pedro_pimenta Yes and this is also where you can collaborate with your semantic competitors who would be targeting the same audience but offering something which is completely different in nature to what you are offering, thereby also giving you access to your potential users in their community as well

Our community truly values each and every family that joins us, and we understand the importance of creating a vibrant and active network. To help reach our critical mass, let's focus on engaging and connecting with the families already on our platform. Encouraging them to share their experiences, invite friends and family to join, and participate in discussions and events can help create a sense of belonging and value within our community. Let's work together to cultivate a supportive and welcoming environment that will naturally attract more families to join us!
