@abhishek_ux how do you manage your roadmap to make sure it keeps evolving?
Abhishek Dutta
@elena_opreag 1. Pay attention user feedback in communities and via email. 2. Pay attention to usage metrics and where users are getting stuck in order to identify space of innovation/features 3. Conduct surveys 4. Do 1-1's with selected user groups.

True, but I think an essential and core path should be followed for the product. I think this prevent any trailing and unnecessary changes to the product.

I noticed that adapting a roadmap is like fine-tuning a recipe it always makes the product better.
Ijeoma Florence
During a side project I worked on, our roadmap felt like it was changing every week.

Abhishek Dutta
@ijeoma_florence Can happen and can get super overwhelming. It's natural for a team to feel shaken up in the initial days while adopting a new structure. But it's important to address the gaps, strengths and make it more streamlined in the subsequent weeks. Remember: Communication is the key.
John Davis
I remember a time when I tried sticking to the plan no matter what it didn't work out.
Share
Abhishek Dutta
@john_davis28 Probably good for the initial launch but only if the initial launch is less than 3-4 weeks. Beyond that we should always build, take space, adapt and act.
Thomas Turner
When I worked on startup, our roadmap changed almost every quater.

In one of my past projects, sticking to a rigid roadmap backfired. The best results came when we adjusted it based on real feedback.

Exactly! As product needs change roadmaps that evolve ensure me stay connected to the core vision
Share
Abhishek Dutta
@sawyer_matthews Now that's a great point in here. Adapting is fine but it should not go beyond the Product Vision. True. VERY CRUCIAL POINT.
Miles Monroe
From personal experience, roadmaps should be flexible.

I see evolving roadmaps as an ongoing conversation between creators and users.
Share
Abhishek Dutta
@india_lane Indeed, it has to be conversational. After all it's a way to communicate our ideas with our users.
