Can Ai be a good thing for writers/authors?

This is a hotly debated topic so I will try to be a bit more specific. Ai has created the opportunity for authors to create fully interactive stories and worlds that readers can "play" through that is simply not possible without Ai (or being in something like a video game). Even though this takes SOME of the writing out of the hands of authors, is it still a good step forward for the craft as a whole to introduce this new form of entertainment and world/story building? (This is not about tools or editing with Ai)

Great for brainstorming and structuring thoughts, less so for being a "creative writer"

@nicolaas_spijker Why do you think less so for creative writing? In a traditional sense sure, but letting readers make choice and interact with your stories is something that is simply not possible without Ai and certainly strikes me as very Creative Writing. Thoughts?

@ryan_sullivan5 AI gives good ideas but struggles with doing great storytelling. Think of it as, all the building pieces are there, but they're not set in their correct place. AI helps with giving new sections, structuring, or adding small parts to articles. I have yet to see an AI deliver a 300+ excerpt that required 0 changes and connects perfectly within the body of an article. Might be more effective for ads since there is less copy, but still to combine your brand with copy there is almost always a small change you want to incorporate.

@nicolaas_spijker Got it, so your concern is in it's ability to do it, but if it could tell the stories well then you'd see that as a positive?

hey bro, you've touched on a really interesting aspect of AI in the creative world. AI offering ways for authors to create interactive stories is a big step. it's like blending traditional storytelling with immersive, participatory experiences. yes, it does change the role of the author a bit. it's less about writing every detail and more about designing frameworks for stories to unfold within. but think about the new dimensions it adds to storytelling. readers become part of the story, making decisions, exploring worlds. it's a fresh, engaging way to experience narratives. this doesn't diminish the craft…it evolves it. authors can explore new storytelling techniques, create complex worlds that respond to the reader. it's all about how authors use these tools. AI can be a collaborator, opening up possibilities that were hard to achieve before. so, it's not just a good step forward…it's an exciting one. it's about expanding what storytelling can be and seeing where this journey takes the craft of writing.

Yes, we can enhance our writing experience with AI technologies. But everyone have to learn how to use AI for the purpose.

Definitely yes, it helps a lot in solving problems with the text. Even when you are burnt out, AI can provide ideas.
