  • Will AI make us unemployed?

I can’t do without the help of AI in my daily development work. I use ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and various AI-driven design platforms. AI can help me improve my efficiency by at least 30%. For some HTML pages or pure algorithm modules, AI code accounts for 80%, and only a small amount of modification is required. The workload of two people before now only requires one person. If this situation continues, will AI make more people unemployed? Is it possible to develop into AI to write all the code in the future?

I don't think so, because humans are the one who made AI and always be.

Depends on how one looks at it. The future is not about Humans vs. AI; it’s about Humans with AI.

Of course Not, AI will not necessarily make us unemployed but will transform job roles and create new opportunities.

Think the high performers who adapt will get even better. Middle of the distribution curve less rosey. In my main gig industry seeing players talk about replacing historically manual processes with AI.. we are working on this too. Will either need a fraction of the headcount or you'll be able to increase output by the inverse.

AI is a powerful tool, not a replacement. It can automate tasks, but human creativity and problem-solving are still essential.

We need to adapt and upskill. AI will change the job market, but it also creates new opportunities. We need to focus on developing skills that complement AI.

It's a double-edged sword. While AI can increase efficiency, it also raises ethical concerns about job displacement and inequality.

While AI might reduce some jobs, it can also improve job quality by taking over repetitive tasks

I don't believe so. I think it will push people to do that much better.

it will displace people who don't upskill. The cat is out of the bag- there is no going back. If you don't get with the times, you will be left behind.

I love this quote... "AI won't replace your job. People who know how to use AI will."

Any job is a set of tasks in the end. AI can automate some but not all. I see it as enhancing our ability to do tasks better, faster, or smarter.

In my opinion, to think the eventuality of AI will not be fewer jobs in tech is just delusional — AI won't replace humans, but it will help us do more in the same time. That being said, many people should prepare to be asked to do things their profession wasn't expected to do before, resulting in smaller teams. But it will also enable more solopreneurs / minimalist enterepeurs to get started, and be successful.

It can happen, taking into account that AI helps being much more productive, it can enable companies to downsize its' teams. I don't think AI will replace humans though. We'll have to adapt ourselves to being effective using AI tools to keep our jobs and get new ones.

No. Nothing can make you unemployed. If you know how to use it in your favor, like you already do, then it will only help in your career.

Not at all. As an early childhood teacher, I firmly believe that no AI can replicate the quality of human interaction in education.
