Hello, dear Product Hunters!
I am working on a project in the field of generative vector design (https://app.plurana.com) and some of the market experts claim that even VECTOR generative design is already quite a cluttered space.
Do you agree?
If yes - please share tools that you know.
To my best knowledge there is an amazing Recraft (launched this summer), which specialises in vector illustrations. But are there more of similar solutions? Am I missing something?

It's great that when choosing a style you can choose not just a logo or art, but for example tattoo. It seems that such functionality may be in demand by a wide range of professionals.
@maxgerasimov Thank you, we didn't know about this one!
@maxgerasimov good one! Thanks for sharing
The industry is completely new to me. I will follow the comments to get to the bottom of it.
As far as I understand Recraft is generating images in raster format and then vectorises them - so this is not really vector generation, right?
One more thing is https://vectorizer.ai which can actually transform anything you have in raster to the scalable vector graphics image
Good luck!
@nickanisimov Thank you!!
Rhino + Grasshopper: Rhino is a 3D modeling software, and Grasshopper is a visual programming language plugin for Rhino. Together, they allow designers to create generative designs using a node-based interface.
Processing: Processing is an open-source programming language and environment for creating visual art and design. It's widely used for generative design and creative coding.
NodeBox: NodeBox is another open-source visual programming tool for creating 2D vector graphics. It's particularly known for its ease of use in generating complex designs.
Inkscape: Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor that can be used for generative design through scripting using languages like Python.
Illustrator with Scripting: Adobe Illustrator, a popular vector graphics editor, can be extended with scripting using languages like JavaScript or AppleScript for generative design tasks.
Snap.svg: Snap.svg is a JavaScript library that allows you to work with SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) in a generative and interactive manner on the web.
OpenSCAD: While more focused on 3D modeling, OpenSCAD is a script-based 3D CAD modeler that can be used for generative design of 3D objects.
Houdini: Houdini is primarily known as a 3D animation and VFX software, but it also has powerful procedural modeling and generative design capabilities.
VectorScript: VectorScript is a scripting language provided by Vectorworks, a design software primarily used in architecture and entertainment industries, for creating custom vector-based designs.
AutoCAD with AutoLISP: AutoCAD, a widely used design and drafting software, can be extended using AutoLISP scripting language for generative design purposes.
Remember that the capabilities of these tools can vary, and some might be more focused on specific industries or use cases. Always check the latest information and documentation for each tool to see if it meets your specific generative design needs.
@kenny_william WOW! Thanks a lot!
I would recommend investigating the product releases from Icons8 and Craftwork Design as they might offer comparable products.
According to me Generative design refers to a design process that involves using algorithms and computational methods to explore and generate multiple design possibilities. These tools are often used in various fields, including architecture, industrial design, and engineering, to optimize designs based on specific criteria and constraints.
If there are any new developments or specific tools related to "VECTOR generative design," I don't have access to information beyond my last update. To find the most up-to-date and relevant information on these tools, I recommend conducting a search on the internet, checking design software marketplaces, or referring to professional communities and forums focused on design and engineering.
Checkout some VECTOR generative design tools listed below :
Scriptographer: A plugin for Adobe Illustrator that enables users to create generative artwork using scripting languages like JavaScript.
1. Paper.js: An open-source vector graphics library that works with HTML5 Canvas and allows for interactive vector graphics and generative art.
2. Rune.js: Another JavaScript library for creating generative art, with a focus on simplicity and modularity.
3. Generative Design Library (GDL): A toolset developed by Autodesk within the Grasshopper environment, which allows for generative design workflows in 2D and 3D.
4. Processing: While it is primarily known as a tool for generative art in the raster domain, Processing can also work with vector graphics and supports SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) output.
5. Inkscape: A free and open-source vector graphics editor that allows for scripting and extensions, enabling some level of generative design.
6. Adobe Illustrator with Astute Graphics Plugins: Adobe Illustrator can be extended with various plugins from Astute Graphics, some of which may enable generative design capabilities.
7. CorelDRAW: CorelDRAW is a popular vector graphics editor that can be extended with macros and scripts for some generative design tasks.
Remember to explore the features and capabilities of each tool to find the one that best suits your specific needs and workflow. Always check for updates and new tools to stay current with the rapidly evolving field of generative design.
Hope this helps. Thanks
@harshal_jani1 Thank you so much, really well structured!
It's happening every time: in every industry, every startup hears the same: red ocean, cluttered space, etc.
@eugene_sugrobov This is actually the first time when we received such comment, maybe because it was given by a VC that is very much focused on Generative AI. Still curious about that)
Great news! We'll be keeping an eye on you!
