It depends I guess.
I use website + email + ConverKit
But if your goal is mainly editorial, I think Substack saves a lot of time, helps with discoverability and you don't have costs
In my case, I prefer to "control de experience", automate some stuff and things like that

@ivan_fanego Thanks! Do you know if there are any issues with "owning the audience" if I move from substack?
@lisadziuba As far as I know, you just need to export the emails, but I never used it. But in other cases, migrating for a platform is always a pain hehe

I think you can do all of these.
Think of it as a multiple pronged attack.
The more avenues you have the better.
I think it depends to our goal
