There is a small hack to set up a google alert for "site:https://www.crunchbase.com/fundi..." to be notified of new founding rounds.

E-newsletters are excellent sources of trends in tech/business/ society/digital media. Two I recommend:

Also worth reading annual trend reports from the big consulting firms such as:

There're some VC communities on Slack, and Discord. Be an active member there. In some of the communities, they have created and saved a good list of VC, angels, and Family offices. That could be a good source of info.
