When initiating a new project or launching a company, do you automatically opt for Slack or Teams?

Neither. We chose Discord. For a company with 120+ employees, the free version is enough for full operation. Discord was like a breath of fresh air after using Slack. Everyone started communicating with everyone

Teams isn't convenient if you need to work on several project: you can have only one team space open in the app. Slack allow you to manage several spaces from the same app.

I use Slack, out of habit. But I'm considering a slow move toward Discord since the calling features are pretty neat there.

I use Discord since my collaborators tend to be teens or in their 20s (who tend to use Discord not Slack) ... but if someone told me sign up for AOL Instant Messenger or any other obscure platform, I would oblige because they are contributing to my cause, why shouldn't I accommodate?

@adamlui How is Discord working for you? I'm curious to learn about the work use case for Discord.
Adam Lui
@zmiro it is simply what most kids use for chat so are most comfortable w/ sending/receiving quick msg's, and already have installed on phones to reply to notifications easily, so it works well in not getting ignored
Adam Lui
@zmiro ..but if you mean UI-wise, it's like a dark-mode Slack clone so probably works just as well (if not better) than Slack for work

@zmiro you're welcome, here's a screenshot also

@adamlui Cool that's super interesting, thanks for sharing that!
Not necessarily. In fact, until there's a need for a better communication platform, we can use free ones that work the best for us.

I go for Slack as it's more intuitive and approachable for startups. Teams seems too enterprisey for me, though that might just be a brand perception of Microsoft!

Slack is the answer! P.S - I have also launched my product SayData today. Would appreciate you trying it out (currently #1 for the day) and providing your reviews and support for the product

Slack as most people I know are already familiar with it

Slack! Because you can automate so much things on it :)

Slack for a multitude of reasons - Like @supademo_joe said its more intuitive and approachable for startups but it also scales with your business to the point where nearly every Enterprise level org uses it for daily internal comms.

Slack or Teams? Depends on what you need. Slack's good for quick chats, Teams integrates well with Microsoft stuff.

Definitely Slack, out of habit.

Slack for sure, its way more intuitive and user-friendly. Additionally, most people are already familiar with slack and the learning curve is way less.

Slack 100%. I've used both at previous jobs and they are just not comparable. Teams made me wanna kill myself every day I had to use it. Nobody deserves to be forced to use that.
Opting for Slack is like joining a vibrant digital party! It's sleek, user-friendly, and has a gazillion integrations. Plus, the emojis are like confetti for your conversations! 🥳🥳

I've never used Teams—hopefully it stays that way lol. Slack is great, and I've heard good things about Discord, too!

Actually using Google spaces #notansweringtheq (mainly because it's included in Google Workspace). It's not as good as Slack or Teams tbh but it's nice to have one fewer platform to use!
