Hi everyone 👋 Amir here and we are building unbody.io. We have our first PH launch in few weeks. Doing so we have tried to record a 2-min live demo of the product by myself. However I also see, some other startups use an explainer video and some others a teasers/promo videos. Here's what we have https://youtu.be/FP1NJuP7CQI?si=qw4fJAtMdY1lGoSZ So i was wondering what's your take is on this? Do you think our current 2min video is a good fit for launching on PH ?

My feedback: @amirhouieh Right of the bat: Try to instead to hock the user. What problem does it solve. And then follow up with solution. You start with the solution. "How our platform using advanced AI". Super easy, directly from your private data etc." Okay but what problem does it solve? Everything uses advance AI today, and everything is "private"...then I tried to figure out what it was, so I scrolled through the video quickly. But I have no clue 😅. Why do I need this? what problems of mine does it solve? I know I know. This is a common problem with devs. Im a dev my self, And I used to always focus on the solution first 🤦 . But then I went to business school and learned. Start with the problem, the solution. And hock the user in the first opening. This will 10x your life, here is why.

@amirhouieh Glad I could help. A small tweak and it's perfect 👌 Always introduce the viewer to what they are about to see. Since viewers might not have the context.

@sentry_co thanks for feedback. Surely valid point. The video is trying to targeting non-ai devs and hence i opt out the problem. But you're right, probably starting from the problem will make it better or probably ending it with a few usecase.

Thanks for sharing, Amir! I've been working on mine too. Another thing I'd keep in mind is that for people watching this video, it's the first time they're learning about you and your product. Keeping things as simple and jargon free makes it easier for me to dive in and understand so that I can get interested and want to learn more. For my video I'm trying to choose 1-3 points that I want to communicate very plainly and repeatedly. What are your 1-3 points?

@cara_jacqueline hey 👋 well i didn't have 3 points exactly, my goal for the video was to show how unbody works and highlights 2-3 key features. But as for points , i show 1. Modular AI architect (not depending on openAI only for example) 2. Various data sources you can connect to unbody 3. Ease of use of functionalities and how powerful it's Unfortunately since the problem we're solving is complex and multilayer hence showing the solution would also become layered.

Hey Amir, a 2-minute live demo is great for authenticity and showing the product in action, which can engage and educate potential users quickly. It's a solid fit for PH, where the community values seeing the founder's passion and the product's real-world application.

Hey Amir, a personal live demo like yours can be very effective on Product Hunt as it adds a human touch and shows the passion behind the product. It's great for engaging with the community, who value authenticity and a clear understanding of what they're getting—your current video should resonate well with that audience.

Creating a compelling demo video for your Product Hunt (PH) launch is essential for effectively showcasing your product's features and capturing the attention of potential users. A successful demo video typically starts by clearly defining the problem your product solves and demonstrating how it addresses that issue in a visually engaging way. It's essential to keep the video concise, focusing on highlighting key functionalities and benefits while maintaining a professional and polished appearance. Incorporating captivating visuals, clear narration, and real-life use cases can help convey your product's value proposition effectively. Additionally, leveraging platforms like AiToolsKit.ai can enhance your demo video creation process by providing free AI, writing, YouTube, and social media tools to optimize content quality and engagement, ultimately increasing your chances of success on Product Hunt and beyond. https://bit.ly/42HC8WS

Hey Amir, a personal live demo like yours can be incredibly effective on PH as it adds authenticity and allows viewers to connect with the creator. However, it's also beneficial to ensure the video is crisp, highlights key features swiftly, and answers potential questions users might have about unbody.io.

@xyz_333 thanks for the feedback, it surely makes sense. The challenge is the time. I wanted to make it under 2 minutes.

Hey Amir, I just checked out your demo video, and I think the personal touch of a live demo by a founder can create a strong connection with the audience. It feels authentic and gives a clear understanding of unbody.io, which is exactly what you want for a Product Hunt launch.

I think the point that sells a new product is pointing the features that set that product apart from other products in the market. Now a viewer can watch your video, and ask: "okay but why do i need this". You can incorporate it into your video

@deniz_savkay that's interesting idea. Thanks. Need to figure how to do it without making it lengthy.
