What's your biggest moving abroad fail?

Mine was not getting my birth country documents apostilled - such a basic thing that caused so much trouble later. What's yours?

I can relate to getting documents apostilled. I suddenly needed a few last year while already living abroad for a while. Had to get it all sorted back in my home country because the embassy didn't provide that service. Such a hassle.

Oof relatable! My biggest fail was forgetting to get my work visa changed when switching jobs in Germany - almost ended up having to leave the country in a hurry 😅 Always triple check those docs!

I didn't close Indonesian resident after leave the country... accidentally in Indonesia you must terminate residen permit manually...pfff...who knows

I forgot to check the visa requirements for my new country. Ended up having to 
postpone my move by a few months!

Bringing too many belongings can lead to excessive shipping costs or the hassle of dealing with items you don’t actually need.

Packing too mush was my biggest mistake! The shipping costs skyrocketed, and I had to leave a lot behind.

I didn't learn the language beforehand. Simple tasks became a nightmare wihout
knowing even basic phrases!
