What's your biggest fear switching roles to become an Indie Maker?

Hey everyone, I've been reflecting on my journey lately. For over a decade, I was deeply rooted in the world of software engineering, mastering the ins and outs of full-stack development. But recently, I decided to take the plunge and become an indie maker. The transition has been both exciting and nerve-wracking. My biggest fear? Questioning if what I'm building is truly valuable. It's a leap from the familiar to the unknown, from the comfort of a defined role to the unpredictability of wearing multiple hats. The thought of not knowing my next step, of constantly evaluating the worth of my creation, can be overwhelming. I'm curious - for those who've made a similar transition or are even just considering it, what's your biggest fear or challenge? No matter your background, I'd love to hear your story. Let's share our experiences and learn from one another.

I benefitted from building 100s of opensource projects first. Both alongside full-time jobs and during sabbatical periods of my life. That way when I made the plunge I already knew what failure looked like, and what success looked like. Opensource is like simulating a startup.
