Working with the team to set goals together so that everyone feels invested in the goal. How about you Ryan?

@slimmy82 we set goals as a team so that we ensure goals are plausible. We’re always tracking our progress to make sure we’re on track and to make sure they’re still relevant.
Ive been LOVING the EOS scoreboard method!

I'm also somewhat perplexed. We're a startup team, and our goals always shift in response to market conditions. So it's quite challenging for us to set even a half year goal.

Ryan asking the big questions haha. KPI's are often quite difficult for the people setting them and for those who try to achieve them. I've found out that the easiest and most effective way to do it is to sit down and have a open discussion with your senior/lead developers about what is realistically feasible in a given time frame. Of course there is always a slight push back on deadlines from both sides but it's important to find a middle ground. That middle ground ought to be your main point of reference for creating a "goals timeline". tl;dr: Given your area of expertise, set ideal and worst case scenario deadlines for your goals. Then have an open discussion with your team on what they think and find a middle ground! :)
