What’s the max $ amount you are willing to pay to buy the .com equivalent of your domain?

Back in the day the .com domains were everyone’s preference and go to domains. Nowadays, most startups cannot afford a .com and most likely not available, the .io, .co etc…domains are becoming the norm. Are you willing to take the risk in early stages to buy the .com?
