Building a SaaS product comes with unique challenges, from finding product-market fit to managing scalability and ensuring customer satisfaction. Every stage brings new obstacles, whether it’s designing the right features, managing user feedback, or dealing with technical debt. I’d love to hear from others who’ve been through the journey—what’s been the toughest part for you, and how did you tackle it?

Definitely achieving product-market fit. We had to go through a few pivots before landing on the right feature set and pricing model that resonated with our target customers. Lots of customer interviews, analyzing usage data, and rapid experimentation. It's a challenging process but essential for building something people actually want and will pay for.

For us, the hardest challenge was achieving product-market fit. We initially built a tool we thought users needed, but after launching, we found that the demand wasn’t there. We had to go back, interview potential customers again, and pivot the product towards something they were actively looking for. It took time, but being open to change and adapting quickly helped us turn things around.

Balancing feature development with technical debt. Gotta move fast, but don't let your codebase become spaghetti!

For me, the biggest challenge was keeping up with the constant changes in the market and staying agile. Had to iterate our features and pricing model a bunch of times before finding the sweet spot. Talking to users regularly was key to make sure we were building something they actually wanted and would pay for.

Definitely nailing the product-market fit. We ran into the same challenge with our SaaS - built what we thought people needed but then crickets after launch. 🦗 Lots of customer interviews, iterations, and pivoting to get to something that really resonated. Staying agile and open to change is 🔑. It's a journey!
