What's the best way to get user-feedback on a product?

How do you get user-feedback on a product? We're in beta and struggling to get-to-know our ideal user so that we know where to spend time adding extra features and/or refining the ones we have.

Don't call it a beta. People have beta fatigue. Just launch 1.0 and see what happens.

@ixord Thank you! Our product is 100% free, so I struggle to think of things to give in return. people have suggested a downloadable PDF of photography tips as our product is an image background remover.
