A contemplating walk. If I sit, I will be stressed out with my thoughts. But when I go out and have some fresh air, my mood gets better. My stress right now is the AppAlloy launch, could you show some support please ;)

For me, it's stepping away for a brief walk outdoors; the fresh air and change of scenery always reset my mind and alleviate anxiety. It's a simple yet incredibly effective way to gain perspective and recharge.

@zijian do you have a set time limit for walks, or do you go by feeling?

Music. I almost always work with my soundtrack playing. It doesn't provide any distractions for me but provides an atmosphere that helps me to be focused and move forward with my routine. Zero anxiety thanks to that. Though I'd say the levels of stress and anxiety you encounter depend more on the company's 'work atmosphere' and management than anything else.

@yurii_holovanov That is true, what music do you indulge in?

When I'm under a lot of work stress, I find it impossible to fast. Here are some ways I use to unwind that might help you too: 1. Taking a walk in the park during lunch break or after work. 2. Taking a hot bath. 3. Listening to soft music while meditating. 4. Enjoying some good food with friends.

When I finish my working day, I think only about good things and try to leave work for a TV series, for example. Or spend time with your family.

I have 2 main options: the correct mindset (difficult option) and physical training (simple option). The first requires effort to turn off the internal dialogue with disturbing thoughts. The second one turns off the dialogue automatically. I try to combine them.

@oleksandr_zhabin How do you know that you are in the right mindset?

@oleksandr_zhabin So it's a cocktail of several things, and as I understand you get the feeling that you are in the right mindset when you are in the right mindset,

@demetre_mildiani1 I think you understood me correctly, but just in case, I'll emphasize that there are clear indicators that can be used to assess my mindset.

For me it's setting time for relaxation and some music. lately i am trying out just putting my phone away completely and it seems to reduce most of the anxiety pretty fast. I'll make an update on my findings

@chrisliam If you are talking about the phone, Yeah it's really sucks in your focus and drains you quite fast ( at least that's how it is for me )

I go surfing. All my troubles melt away! If I can't surf, walks with my dog are great, too.

    Dan O'Malley
@demetre_mildiani1 The west coast! But I also surf river waves. They're great because you can surf inland!

Taking deep breaths, going for a walk, listening to calming music, or practicing mindfulness meditation are effective ways I destress and relax. Sharing strategies can help us all cope better.

@yukioyama but do you let yourself of the hook even if you move the needle a tiny bit?

Having a "container" for my work day. I have a start of work day and end of work day ritual - so that my body recognises "work" as being only within that container. I find this really helps my body feel safe, calm and less heightened. Think of the banks of a river - without the banks the river can't flow but instead disperses into a flood plain. I need the "banks" of my day so that I can have a great flow! I also really love to put on a great song and have a mad dance whenever I feel the heightened feelings or emotions during the day! (I love that a lot of you also love and use music to support your feelings).

@jade_grimwood wow, love that jade, creating a clear separation from work life is essential and yes almost everyone uses music, it's universally effective 🙏
