What is the Future of Mobile App Development?

With smartphones being so ubiquitous today, it can be easy to forget that mobile apps are relatively new. Since the early 1970s, when the first mobile phone was introduced, mobile app development has gone through a number of iterations, changing our lives immeasurably. There aren’t any signs of mobile app development slowing down. Emerging technologies such as AI, VR, AR, and blockchain are continuously influencing the course of mobile app development, and apps that power phones and wearables frequently take center stage. What is the future of mobile app development?

I think we can expect to see more AI and cloud based apps. VR, AR, and AI all take up quite a bit of space and processing power (which are more limited on phones), so devs have to make use of the cloud to process what happens inside the app. I'm currently developing an AI API that runs AI on the cloud that can be used by developers for their apps. If you're curious, you can find my discord link in my profile and see more info there.

@richard_gao2 Thank you for your reply. AI is indeed the trend of the future development. I would like to know about it first.

@witt_teo I'm not sure how familiar you are with ML, but you don't actually require much knowledge to operate these new tools. Most of the complex stuff has already been done on the backend. Regarding knowing about the API. first We'll release a Stable Diffusion (image gen), Bloom (text gen like GPT-3), and super resolution AI to begin. Essentially, you can put the API in your app and run the AI without having the user download the entire thing on their app. If you want to see what stable diffusion can do, you can see https://lexica.art/, which is a hub of SD generated content. As for Bloom, you can take a look at what OpenAI's GPT-3 does, and it will be similar. Super resolution is self explanatory: increases image resolution. Good luck on your app development journey!
