@grant_ely, I completely agree with you. The organizational strategy shapes all the points you mentioned.

It's one of my favorite business quotes and I think it's so true. From my own experience - having worked at 3 Fortune 500 companies and currently in a start-up I could see that those with a clear company culture were outperforming their peers. Not only did people feel a greater sense of belonging, but they also had a clearer vision and principals to align actions to.

@jan_beisheim couldn't agree more. Companies with a strong company culture are successful because it helps build lasting relationships between every employee and the company.
It does set a sense of team spirit and ownership. With out leader at helm who leads the culture by example productivity would come down fast.
