What have building things taught me?

Building things has always been a passion of mine from a very young age and ever since I have become a product designer, it has opened a lot of opportunities for me. However, balancing a full-time job with two side projects isn't easy at all - it's a big challenge that I embrace but the thing is, I am so passionate that I want to solve problems, build things, and create an impact! Here are some of my learnings and what keeps me going: 👇 1. Stepping out of my comfort zone: Diving into new projects is my way of breaking out of my comfort zone. Whenever I get an idea in mind, I just dive into it and figure out how things are going to work. This approach teaches me a lot of new things not only related to design but also about business, marketing, development, and much more. 2. Building a solid foundation: Just as a strong building needs a solid base, a successful life requires one too. My side projects are the groundwork needed in today's fast-paced world. They helped me build a strong foundation for my career. 3. Learning from mistakes: Side projects aren’t easy at all. I have made my fair share of mistakes and faced failures, but these experiences are my best teachers. Remember, mistakes are filled with lessons. They guide me toward better solutions and strategies. 4. Learning beyond just design: The best thing about building side projects is that it doesn’t stop with the skill itself — it keeps going and has a positive impact elsewhere. Being a designer and diving into side projects introduced me to the world of no-code development and web development. It's not just about design; it's about developing skills that go beyond traditional design boundaries. 5. Enhanced problem-solving and creativity: Working on side projects has sharpened my creative thinking and problem-solving skills. It's nurtured a growth mindset. This mindset encourages me to approach challenges with an open mind, ready to learn and adapt. What are some of your learnings from building projects and side hustles?
