It was a difficult time for me. I am a digital marketer, and I use ChatGPT for many tasks. My productivity was significantly reduced. It give me a realization that we are salve of these tool , now it is difficult to work without these tools.

When ChatGPT or Claude are down, it can definitely be a challenge, especially if you rely on these tools for various tasks. Here’s how I handle it: Backup Plans: Local Tools: I keep a set of local AI tools and software installed on my machine. Tools like Python's NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy) and pre-trained models from Hugging Face can handle many language processing tasks. Traditional Methods: Sometimes going back to basics helps. Using traditional programming and scripting, leveraging databases, and manually analyzing data can be a temporary workaround. Diversified Tools: Alternative AI Platforms: Exploring other AI platforms like IBM Watson, Google Cloud AI, or Microsoft's Azure AI can be useful. They often have overlapping capabilities. Manual Research and Analysis: Using resources like Google Scholar, academic papers, and other research databases to gather information and insights. Focus on Non-AI Tasks: Strategic Planning: Use the downtime to focus on strategic planning, brainstorming, and outlining projects that don’t require immediate AI assistance. Skill Development: Take the opportunity to learn new skills or dive deeper into coding, data analysis, or other areas that can benefit my AI projects later. Community Engagement: Forums and Groups: Engaging with tech communities on Reddit, Stack Overflow, or specialized forums can provide immediate support and alternative solutions. Networking: Connecting with peers and professionals who might have faced similar issues can offer new perspectives and solutions.

When ChatGPT or Claude are down, I've configured Gemini to handle English-only tasks since it tends to perform better in English. For non-English tasks, I usually wait until my primary AI tools are back online, as Gemini doesn't handle them as well. This setup helps me maintain productivity by ensuring that at least my English tasks can continue uninterrupted.

I thought I was the only one! For me the alternative was to be quite unproductive

Yeah, it's been a bit of a scramble yesterday with the big players down. But there are tons of other providers offering ChatGPT access - I just hop over to one of those. Or I take it as a sign to focus on non-GPT tasks like coding or design work for my AI startup launching this month. Then it is like about having plan B - you have to find and test some alternative AI platforms, so that in case smth is down you can always switch to another solution in order not to interrupt your workflow... )

It makes us realize that how much we are dependent on ChatGPT and other AI tools this way I guess human beings will lose their creativity I guess.

Return to the dark age before 2023. Anyway, certain things require googling on your own, in terms of specific documentation/facts or sites without access to ChatGPT/Gemini search bots.
