What do you do when a new startup copies your product?

I recently saw a new company, that totally copied our product, from features to Landing Page and messaging.
It is flattering but also a bit unpleasant, with all the hard work we put in to build our tool.
What are your best strategies / advice to handle these situations ?

- From the beginning, keep a "secret book" with all your learnings about the market, your failures, user feedback
- Do everything to manage the public AND your team never access your secret book
- When a competitors appears and seems to have great traction, launch a communication campaign making your USP more cleaving and to increase your proximity with your followers. Your audience must understand you already understood their problem and how to solve it, as you're running since some time already.

It's really a difficult situation, just a few days ago I saw a product named Friends launched which was a ditto copy of another product with the same name. They makers also had a spat on x on this.
