What "Bad" habits or mindset make you less productive? And how do you fight it?

Sometimes I have a feeling I could use my potential more.
E.g.
Spending too much time on the internet → I could go exercise or read books.
Not taking advantage of relationships in terms of networking → I should socialise more and ask for help (because I do not do that.). 😅
Not being a part of some co-working or so → I could have more friends and we could create some projects.
----------
Are you aware of something in your life that keeps you behind?
How do you overcome it or compensate?

I think the internet is the most exciting thing ever. Async on demand fun for your brain. I hate sync fun, its time consuming 😂

@sentry_co dopamine addict :D
@busmark_w_nika Its relevant to the times. If Einstein or Davinci or Dali lived today. They would spend most of their time on the internet.

@sentry_co We would place bids on OpenSea to trade their NFTs.
Bad habit : Procrastination and Over loading myself with more requests

My bad habit is trying to do things perfectly, else procrastinate on it, and repeat. Also extremely unsocial.

@sidraarifali Perfection kills progress :)
Why do you think spending time on the internet is unproductive?
inconsistency is a bad habit... it is okay to be not too organized... you can still write it down... but inconsistency is the biggest enemy of success...

@kilopolki I am doing my best to overcome it. :D
Recap
When I'm at home, I sometimes end up endlessly scrolling through short videos, so I usually work outside.

@busmark_w_nika both X and instagram 😂
It’s easy to fall into the trap of feeling like I need to do everything on my own

@_james_alexander Oooooooh, this is like hearing myself :D
Absolutely, more than half of our day is spent in front of screens, and working remotely can easily turn this into a routine. To break this cycle, I’m planning to attend local events around my product release. It’ll help me connect with others, stay motivated, and inject some fresh energy into my work.

@sonu_goswami2 Sounds good. Is your community strong to offer such events you are interested in?
There's a vibrant community here in India, and while I haven’t actively engaged yet, I know there are plenty of events and networks that can help me connect and grow. It’s all about making the move from my screen to the real world. @busmark_w_nika :)

@sonu_goswami2 You have probably more possibilities than me in my little hometown :D That's sounds like a challenge to create one event :D
Yes...possibilities here might be more diverse, but I still feel like I'm not making the most of them...it's a bit unfortunate.

A bad habit I struggle with is getting distracted by social media, especially when I should be focusing on work 🤦🏽♂️. It’s so easy to get lost in scrolling! To fight it, I set specific times for checking my feeds and keep my phone out of reach when I'm deep into tasks. It’s all about setting boundaries and staying intentional with my time! 💪🏽

I see people around are mentioning procrastination as the main reason, however not sure how many of you really know the psychology behind of it. Our brain has a protective mecanism. When we are delaying something, it comes as a reaction to something that bothered us long time ago. I think the first think to do - observe the pattern, analyse it and change the attitude.

@tina_sisman Do you procrastinate too much? 😬
I hear you about spending too much time online

Social media(especially reel), staying in delusion all day of achieving milestone during your journey is something i believe drags to be less productive!
@busmark_w_nika I always turn off the internet on mobile when i working and turned off the notification for Instagram & Snap

@smit_rangras123 how do you prevent yourself to be too much on social media? :)

Focusing too much on how much needs to be done rather than the small steps ahead. It’s a question of refocus, once I refocus on the small steps ahead I get more done and feel less overwhelmed
Bad habit since forever: Overthinking.
Try to just get on and take action as best as I can, always reminding myself that even if it doesn't work out, a fail is a lesson learned. 😂
One "bad" habit I’ve struggled with is overplanning instead of acting—spending too much time strategizing without taking enough actionable steps. To combat this, I’ve started setting daily, small, actionable goals and using time-blocking to stay on track.
Another mindset that held me back was hesitating to ask for help, thinking I needed to figure everything out alone. Now, I actively reach out to my network for advice and collaborate with others—it’s amazing how much faster progress happens when you leverage the power of community.

@kamran_razzaq Relatable to both :)
To fight it, I try to set clear deadlines and create a routine.
Habit - Making a plan and not following throgh then making another plan for something i just made a plan for just to not follow through.
Mindset - "I can do everything" or " Im not good enough"

@cornell_gorman25 Mindset :D I have both but it is a pity that I do not have them at the right time when I need that certain one :D Bad timing. :)
