We just implemented some tutorials in our app, to explain the functionality to our users. What do you think about video tutorials in your product?

If the same issue is raised frequently or to showcase usecases, I would consider adding video tutorials.

Worth for few of our complicated products that help new users to learn how to use.

We have been requested a lot by our customers to put our video tutorials on our website and product. It makes information easily accessible, and also reduces support queries

I personally think that video tutorials are great. Especially useful for people who aren’t that tech savvy or don’t want to spend time figuring out how to do things themselves. Zero harm having tutorials available as long as they’re not compulsory to watch .

@simona_o_neill3 Yes, I also think for the no-tech-people and also older generations it's really helpful!

In view of the Product Hunt, I think that rather than a tutorial, it would be good to have some kind of teaser that illustrates the application as a whole in a few seconds. On the other hand, in terms of documentation, tutorials are certainly useful in video format but at the same time are prone to quickly become obsolete due to fixes and new features

@filippo_calabrese for Product Hunt we do have a teaser, I agree with you. Good point, tutorials have to be developed next to the platform.

Our recent arrivals of fashion models who are very generous in their profession can do this for you.

Depends, in some cases they can be useful but tbh I've never watched them. I just want to go try the product myself

@joonatanvanhala it depends on the learning type I guess. When I think about my father, he is always reading the instructions and watching videos before using a product. Maybe it's also a generation thing

Prefer a walkthrough of the app, preferably on the homepage before any onboarding so I can interact and try the demo rather than watching a video...

@jd_worcester agree, when walkthroughs work for you app and product it's super helpful. Especially in solutions with many functions

It should definitely be an option if the interface is different or the userbase come across common issues. But the safe bet is to have video tutorials.

Video tutorials can be very helpful of course, but I think interactive tutorials would be even better. Lerning by doing > learning by watching, and not the problem that it's too fast or too slow for some.

@konrad_sx agree, when product tours work for your product I would also do it. But I think it's the same problem. There are always people who skip it. In the end the various onboarding and help resources make a nice user experience I guess.

I wouldn't put videos inside the app, in our product culture that's been lazy for not improving the UX and wanting a quick fix... We complemented our product with some blog articles explaining how to use it -- but not inside the app per se But whatever works! Share your discoveries (:

Video tutorials are very helpful for users. Our product is interactive video and it actually needs a video tutorial so users can maximize using it :)

Truly, this article is one of the very best in the history of articles. I am an antique ’Article’ collector and I sometimes read some new articles if I find them interesting. And I found this one pretty fascinating and it should go into my collection. Very good work. amexrewardcard com
