Sam Altman's departure and subsequent return to OpenAI indicate the complexity of leadership transitions and strategic alignment but also demonstrate ongoing commitment to the organization's mission and goals.

very strange, but an illustrative example of working in a large and quickly became super famous company

There are apparently rumblings of something revolutionary going on in the OpenAI labs. The "safety" mission loomed larger and larger, and the board lost the plot. This is the only answer I can find that makes sense of it.

Hey there! I just read about Sam Altman leaving and rejoining OpenAI. It's definitely an interesting move and I'm curious to see how it will impact the company. By the way, I'm actually about to launch my own product and I would love to get some advice from you. Your experience and insights would be invaluable. Also, I'd be thrilled if you could give me feedback once my product is live. Just click on the "Notify" button to get notified when it's ready. Thanks in advance!

Sam Altman's return to OpenAI is a testament to his leadership skills and the respect he commands from his employees. Despite being fired by the board, Altman was able to rally the troops and convince the board to reinstate him. This shows that he has the ability to unite people and inspire them to follow him.

Don't care? He's the top person in the AI field today; there's natural friction, and companies are fighting to get him. Kudos to him, but it is far from what could concern us or that we can even remotely influence.

I think it's very good that OpenAI was saved this way. I trust them more than Microsoft to make right decisions.
