Hey @abigail_martinez1!
The most effective and low-cost that I saw so far is all related to founder-led growth, which means, create content for your narrow audience and try to engage and open conversations with all of them. I know it is time consuming but it is at the beginning the most effective and low-cost regarding the budget required (startups don't have much budget to spend). SEO; takes to much time, Paid; you need budget, creatives and landing pages, Outbound; well it is similar to founder-led growth but more personalised and real, Social Media; takes to much time and you need to build the community first. There are many strategies in between but I am trying to give the best answer with no much detail about the product, market or industry.
I hope you found this insightful.
Cheers,

Low cost might not be the good wording.
When you are bootstrapping you are typically limited by cashflow.
You can focus on channel which consume time rather than cash. For example write content to build a SEO funnel. This isn't cheap as it will time intensive but it isn't cash intensive.
Affiliate marketing is also a nice channel to look at. You can list our product on market place like Reditus to build a network of affiliate. Affiliate marketing is expensive as you will typically forfeit 20% of your revenue, but as you don't need ot pay cash upfront it is nice for your cashflow.
Low-cost marketing is all about creativity and connection! A few strategies that have worked for MirWork was:
1. Start discussions on platforms like LinkedIn, Discord, Reddit, or Product Hunt to spark interest
2. Build partnerships with other startups or communities to cross-promote
3. Personal outreach—connecting directly with job seekers, career coaches, and communities that would benefit from our platform.
