  • What are some company practices (done on purpose or not) that result in women discrimination?

I'll go first. As an ex-COO, who also led HR, I have seen first-hand how salary negotiations tend to promote, over time, high differences in salary between men and women in similar experience ranges. Let me explain: If you, as a company, don't have a view of what should be paid for a position (with a given responsibility and experience required) and you ask employees to give you a number, women will say less than men most of the times, and thus, they will start with lower salaries. What are other examples?

Gender discrimination remains a persistent issue in numerous companies worldwide, and unfortunately, it is one of the 130 most pressing workplace concerns we analyzed in our research at Culturama. Our tool has shown that this problem affects organizations across various industries and countries. Many employees have reported instances of gender-based favoritism in promotions or salary increases. For more detailed information on this topic, I invite you to visit our website. Our tool covers 32 industries and 1500 global organizations, and today we have launched it here on PH https://www.producthunt.com/post... . We would greatly appreciate your feedback and engagement in discussions on this and other important workplace issues.

I was about halfway through typing up an answer based on what I've noticed as a 20-something white man before I even thought to ask my wife. So yeah . . . stuff like that.
