Here's the context.💫 We are a video production service for Saas companies - videodeck.co For the past couple of months, we've built a collection of 9 video script templates and a spreadsheet with hundreds of copy ideas for intros, outros, way's to say "Hi", ways to plug your product, and so much more. https://www.videodeck.co/video-script-templates https://i.imgur.com/fG8jR1t.png This content project is super useful for content and product marketers that want to produce more video content but lack inspiration and ideas. Our goals were to: - Generate leads - Drive awareness in the PH community - Connect with Saas companies that are producing video content - Potentially drive sales 🤞 So, we launched on PH at 10am. https://www.producthunt.com/posts/saas-video-script-templates https://i.imgur.com/nxpxymZ.png I was happy to see that the competition was manageable. No unicorns, no Ycombinator companies, and no companies with massive fan bases. Little that I know that doesn't mean much, as some companies will buy fake upvotes and comments. More on that later. So, here are the numbers for our launch: Upvotes - 231 Position - 7 Comments - 102 (tons of organic ones, meaning not just people from my network) Btw, let's connect - https://www.linkedin.com/in/heleana-tiburca/ https://i.imgur.com/pyz74tI.png This drove the following results to our little content project: Emails collected - 234 Traffic to the content project- 851 Traffic to the homepage - 901 (this surprised me) Traffic to our pricing page - 335 (sort of means that 1-3 people checked our pricing) Traffic to a page from the webflow theme that wasn't supposed to be there - 232 #startuplife #pobody'snerfect https://i.imgur.com/tDOUGdg.png Some indirect benefits from launching on PH: - The launch was a chance for me to reconnect with everyone from my network, including potential leads and old customers. This opened quite a few doors, and I'm currently talking to a few cool Saas companies that I already had in my network. - We now have some direct links going to our content project which will help a tad with the project's SEO. (trying to rank for "Video Script Templates" A few things I did to drive engagement and upvotes - Connect with almost everyone from my network - Offered to do a free video for one random person on IndieHackers and ProductHunt that would check out our launch. (still working on announcing the winner here: https://www.producthunt.com/discussions/i-will-create-a-promo-video-for-a-random-product-hunter-for-free - Reached out to some more micro-influential good friends I knew could count for a shoutout. What I would do differently - When you post the announcement on LinkedIn, don't include the link in the post. It will decrease your reach. Include it in the comments. - Reach out to people one day in advance as a lot of people did not see the message in time, so they upvoted after the day was over (got more upvotes than position six but the upvotes came after the day was over, so didn't move us up the ranking) - Start with the expectation that **there are a lot of products that buy their upvotes and comments**. I know PH is doing stuff to fight this during the launch (hence the drops in upvotes) but still. https://i.imgur.com/pNvakIc.jpg With all being considered, I think the launch went awesome. Of course, I would've liked to get more upvotes, but there were some pretty awesome products in the first positions that deserved the podium more than our content project. 😊 That's it! What do you think about our results, and how do they compare to your previous launches?

@heleana hopefully I release my first product here in next few months. Finalizing coding, then need to get ready for actual launch. I actually sent you connection request in LinkedIN already, so invite should be pending there. 😁

Wow, you got some great insights! 😄 We had the same experience when we did our launch with some new doors opening, even some investors responded very positively to the PH badge on our website.

@sandra_idjoski I'm so glad I can be useful! That's so awesome, had you already raised money or were you looking for investors?

Thanks for this gem. Super useful "When you post the announcement on LinkedIn, don't include the link in the post. It will decrease your reach. Include it in the comments. "
