Never a bad idea to consult with hunters, there are lots of brilliant business minds here :)
However, if your target audience isn't here, then it may be tough to validate the idea

Not at all, take advantage of the topics that are focused on sharing products or asking for feedback. Can even create your own topic specifically asking for feedback on your product- I see that here often.
