As promised, this is in continuation to this discussion: https://www.producthunt.com/disc... We recently launched ainave and faced an unexpected issue: "not getting featured." From the time we launched until 7-8 hours later, we tried everything we could but to no avail. We contacted support multiple times through emails and chat but always received this response: Even without being featured, we gathered support from our direct connections in the Product Hunt community. We discovered we were not the first to face this issue. Here, I will share some compiled tips from various conversations and community discussions to increase the chances of getting featured. Pre-launch Tips: 1. Make your tagline and product description as descriptive as possible. Avoid catchy and vague phrases. 2. Don't miss any aspect of the launch, such as the first comment, images, and social sharing. Nowadays, successful launches almost always include a video, so it's good to have one. 3. Gather as many subscribers as possible to make your launch appear anticipated by the algorithm. 4. Schedule your launch at least 2 weeks in advance. The longer it's on the coming soon page, the more likely it will be recognized by the community and the algorithm. 5. Participate, create, and engage in discussions that can benefit your launch and warm up your account if you are the hunter of the launch. Launch Day: 1. Avoid upvotes from new or inactive accounts. Try to get upvotes from accounts that are at least 1 month old and active, as new accounts can negatively impact your launch. 2. If not featured, don't lose hope. Review your launch page, make necessary edits, and contact the PH team again, acknowledging the edits and explaining why your launch deserves to be featured. 3. Some people have received a massive boost in upvotes from big newsletter mentions, which automatically featured their launch and even got it into the top 3. This is rare but possible. 4, Gather as many upvotes and comments as possible and continue to seek support until you are satisfied. What Worked in Our Case? Our launch had all the checklists we thought were necessary. 1. High-quality images, an engaging video, and the first comment. 2. We created the launch almost 3 weeks in advance. 3. Got 93 subscribers before the launch. 4. Gathered substantial support from our direct connections in the community. 5. Didn't engage in any malpractice. 6. I was an active community member for the past 4-5 months and engaged more before the launch. Still, when the launch happened, it was not featured. We continued to get support from friends and contacted PH support multiple times. Many friends tried to understand what was wrong, and one of them identified the issue with our launch. It seemed minor but was quite significant. The issue was with the tagline and the description. We made the edit and submitted this message to PH chat support: And within 10 minutes, voila, we got featured! This was the only issue with our launch. Even though we were late, we were blessed with community support and secured #9 rank in the end. I hope this covers everything I have observed and helps anyone with their upcoming or current launch. Thank you!
