The MVP Myth: Start Fast, Fail Faster?

As startup founders, we're often told to "fail fast." But how do we balance that with building a meaningful MVP? Is speed always the key, or is it better to take a little more time to understand the problem we're solving truly? From my experience, here's the hard truth: most MVPs fail not because they’re rushed, but because they don’t solve a real pain point. Getting caught up in flashy features or what you think the user wants is easy. The challenge is digging deep enough to uncover what users need. So, here’s a quick thought experiment for your startup today: 1️⃣ Ask yourself, "What’s the smallest, most impactful feature I can ship to test my hypothesis?" 2️⃣ Share it with your early adopters, who will give you honest feedback. 3️⃣ Iterate relentlessly, but only on insights that solve the problem you set out to tackle. Your MVP doesn’t have to be perfect, but it must be purposeful. Focus on validation over vanity, and the path ahead will be much clearer. What’s your approach to building an MVP? Let’s discuss it! 👇
